Theres

The central idea of the song cycle ›Theres‹ is a »contemporary Winterreise«: a homage to Schubert, but also a repositioning within our current time. To this end, composers of different generations have created new works: Bernhard Foccroulle, Helena Cánovas Parés, Thierry Tidrow, Malika Kishino und Sarah Nemtsov. The texts set to music interweave historical voices with current reflections, connecting the Romantic era with our own time. Entitled ›Theres‹, it is named for two women named Therese who were close to the composer Franz Schubert and the author of the poems he set in ›Winterreise‹, Wilhelm Müller. It was initiated and co-developed by the tenor Julian Prégardien.
