›Last Show‹

For the fourth edition of ›CONNECT‹, Ensemble Modern has co-commissioned a work from the composer Brigitta Muntendorf, together with the London Sinfonietta, Het Muziek Amsterdam, the Remix Ensemble Casa da Música Porto and Ensemble intercontemporain Paris. Ensemble Modern will perform the world premiere of the work ›Last Show‹ at the Donaueschingen Music Days. Here, the composer explores the moment of listening and the question whether we are gradually losing our ability to listen. ›CONNECT‹ was initiated in 2016 by the Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne, with the goal of questioning – and actively dissolving – the traditional division between audience and performers. At the end of 2027, ›Last Show‹ will also be performed in Frankfurt.
