3. Young Ensemble Academy

From August 15 to 23, 2026 the Young Ensemble Academy organized by Ensemble Modern and the International Ensemble Modern Academy takes place for the third time. Five young ensembles rehearse and perform works of the 20[sup]th[/sup] and 21[sup]st[/sup] centuries with members of Ensemble Modern in coaching sessions and workshops. The results of their work will be presented by the participants on August 20 at the French-Reformed Church in Offenbach and, as a finale, on August 23 as part of the Naxos Hallenkonzert #100α at the Produktionshaus NAXOS in Frankfurt. The programme includes works by Edison Denisov, Yair Klartag, Magnus Lindberg, Tristan Murail, Rachel C. Walker and the commissioned work ›As Skin Retain an Ocean in the Air‹ by Yuheng Chen, which brings all the ensembles and Ensemble Modern together on stage. On August 17, the ensembles introduce themselves as part of the ›Open Ears‹ event at the Haus der Deutschen Ensemble Akademie.
