Whether humans, birds or algorithms – everything follows invisible rules. People swarm out, move in swarms, are driven by hive intelligence, and occasionally swoon over others or things. Fascinating swarms of birds and fishes are observed by humans with awe or emotion because of their beauty, synchronicity or the elegance of their collective movement. Under the motto SCHWÄRMEN – SWARMING TO SWOONING, the cresc… Biennial for Current Music, presented by Ensemble Modern and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony from February 4 to 15, 2025, is dedicated to this collective phenomenon. The eighth edition of the music festival takes place at different locations in Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Kronberg and Bad Vilbel. The programme has just been published, and tickets are on sale now.
