Three-year residency
at ›Prague Spring‹From 2025 to 2027, the Ensemble Modern will be the ensemble-in-residence of the ›Prague Offspring‹ project of the long-standing international ›Prague Spring Festival‹. At the end of May, it will present world premieres of works by Czech and Slovakian composers, music by established international composers, and key works by the composer-in-residence of this year's festival, Sir George Benjamin. In addition to the concerts, lectures, talks with composers and master classes for young instrumentalists, the reading lessons will be an important part of the collaboration. Three composition students will be given the opportunity to work with the Ensemble Modern on some of their own pieces for smaller ensembles composed especially for this occasion. This will take place in the form of public rehearsals guided by Michael Wendeberg.

Sir George Benjamin unfortunately is indisposed and has had to withdraw from this engagement. The concert on May 31, 2025 (8:00 PM) will be conducted by Franck Ollu. The conversation on May 30 (6:30 PM) will be held with George Benjamin via video link.
