Happy New Ears

Lucia Ronchetti

After the State of Hessen has loosened its restrictions to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the Happy New Ears concert portraying the composer Lucia Ronchetti, originally scheduled for May 27, 2020 at the Main Hall of the HfMDK, can now take place on June 4, 2020 at the Frankfurt Opera. Up to 100 listeners will be allowed to attend the event live.

Ronchetti, one of the leading Italian composers today, presents three of her own works. ›Cartilago auris, magna et irregulariter formata‹ is for a concert grand that sounds as it would have done to Beethoven. In ›Le Palais du silence‹ the composer takes up a work which Debussy planned, but never composed. In ›Rosso pompeiano‹ instrumentalists take on the role of travelling tradesmen in squares in Naples. Peter Tilling will conduct Ensemble Modern on this occasion. The composer Lucia Ronchetti will be present via Zoom; the event will be moderated by Konrad Kuhn.

The concert will be streamed live at www.ensemble-modern.com/on-air.
