Eislermaterial in Norway for the first time

Commemorating the 100th birthday of Hanns Eisler in 1998, Heiner Goebbels created a homage related to Eisler’s oeuvre, a staged concert featuring some of Eisler’s most famous songs which Goebbels edited and arranged for performance by the Ensemble Modern and juxtaposed with original Eisler audio files in a collage. The songs are performed by the actor Josef Bierbichler, whose voice is unmistakably unaffected and simultaneously touching. The Ensemble Modern soloists are involved in the stage action in multiple ways. ›Eislermaterial‹ thus has its Norwegian premiere on September 7, 2017.
