Make no noise by Miroslav Srnka

at the Bregenz Festival

Two people meet on a defunct drilling platform: Hanna and Joseph. In silence, both have found a bearable way of dealing with the terrible events of their respective past. When they meet, they discover singing as a possibility of articulating their lives. The Czech composer Miroslav Srnka has set this tale to music in his chamber opera ›Make no noise‹, which is based on Isabel Coixet’s film ›The Secret Life of Words‹. On August 17 and 19 the Austrian premiere takes place with the soprano Measha Brueggergosman, baritone Holger Falk and Ensemble Modern at the Bregenz Festival.
