Portrait of Allain Gaussin

The French composer, poet and Messiaen student Allain Gaussin is the focus of the next Happy New Ears concert on February 29 (8 pm, Frankfurt Opera). Ensemble Modern performs two works by Allain Gaussin: “L’Harmonie des sphères” (The Harmony of the Spheres, 2006), the title of which refers to Pythagoras and Kepler, and “Mosaïque Céleste” (Heavenly Mosaic, 1997), written in the spirit of a chamber concerto. The composer will also be introduced in conversation. The music director for the evening is the French conductor Jean Deroyer; the musicologist Ulrich Mosch and the visual artist Gérard Fromager will join the conversation.
