Music and Film

The last Happy New Ears concert of the season on June 9 (Frankfurt Opera, 8 pm) focuses on the subjects of music and film. Join us for Edgard Varèse’s “Déserts” (1954), paired with a film by Bill Viola (1994) which contains sequences of images strongly associated with the theme of the “desert”. The evening takes place in conjunction with this year’s biennial “cresc... 2015” (November 26 to 29), which juxtaposes and unites the two time-based art forms of music and film under the motto “Images of Sound”. Pablo Rus Broseta conducts. Musicologist Anno Mungen and art historian Rolf Lauter are the featured speakers.
