“Checkpoint 1” on April 22, 2015

Reminiscent of the view from Berlin’s most famous border crossing, Checkpoint Charlie, Ensemble Modern’s new concert series “Checkpoint” looks out into new, unknown directions: using a kind of “open source” process, the Ensemble Modern musicians experiment, presenting themselves as performers as well as improvisers and composers. With this series, Ensemble Modern continues its successful and popular series of “Concerts under the Roof” at the home base of the German Ensemble Academy. The first concert, “Checkpoint 1”, takes place on April 22 and examines the interface between New Music and jazz. Admission is 10 Euros (8 Euros reduced admission).
