Festival Acht Brücken

The Ensemble Modern is delighted to be visiting the Acht Brücken festival in Cologne with three different programmes this year. Today’s concert includes premieres by York Höller and Enno Poppe and music by Iannis Xenakis – such as the spacal piece "Alax", which the EM will be performing together with the IEMA-Ensemble. In correspondence with the festival theme, "Iannis Xenakis", the EM-soloists will also be playing seven further works by the greek-french composer, in a chamber music concert on 10 MAY. In a joint concert of Klangforum Wien, musikFabrik and Ensemble Modern, the three Ensembles premiered Benedict Mason‘s large-scale piece "Ensemble", originally designed as a commission by the Ensemble Modern for the Donaueschinger Musiktage, at the Staatenhaus on 3 MAY.
