Happy New Ears
with Sofia GubaidulinaDiscover music by Sofia Gubaidulina at the Ensemble Modern’s next Happy New Ears concert on 18 JUN at the Frankfurt Opera. Gubaidulina, who is considered one of the most significant composers of our time, was born in 1931 in the Tatar city of Chistopol. Since her musical aesthetic clashed with the culture political views of the Sovjet Republic, her work did not become known to a wider audience until much later. The Ensemble Modern will be performing her "Hommage à T.S. Eliot" together with conductor Clemens Heil and soprano Elizabeth Reiter. Sofia Gubaidulina will be present and talking with hr2-journalist Stephan Fricke about her work.
