Film concert Metropolis

Fritz Lang’s silent film "Metropolis" is regarded as an icon in the history of film. It was only in 2010, when material formerly considered lost was rediscovered, that the original version could be restored by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung. After the film had been restored, Matalon tackled the silent film classic anew and adapted his score to the film version of 2010, a work commissioned by the Ensemble Modern and sponsored by Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
