Mixed Double

In this new format launched by Sound Port Frankfurt, different artistic disciplines meet in a kind of counterpoint: twice in one evening, two artists share a stage – spontaneously creating a unique experience which might include music, painting, film, spoken word and dance. Each artform unfolds in its own way, but in conjunction with the other. The first Mixed Double features Jagdish Mistry (violin) and Ulrike von der Osten in the first part, i.e. music and painting. While painting is created from nothing and leads to a visible work, music only resounds in the moment – it vanished without leaving a trace. In the second part of the evening, Thomas Mittler (horn) joins the director and author Lennart Kammler for a free-form musical theatre performance on the subject of forgetting and dementia, featuring music by Heinz Holliger, Jörg Widmann and Olivier Messiaen.
