Ensemble Modern as guest in Tongyeong

The Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF) is held in Tongyeong every spring, with the renowned composer Unsuk Chin, at the helm. Ensemble Modern has been a welcome guest for many years. The Ensemble will also be represented at this year’s TIMF Academy in autumn, where it will spend a week sharing its decades of experience in the development of new works with young performers, conductors and composers in various interpretation courses. Also participating as coaches will be Unsuk Chin, British composer Christian Mason and conductor Roland Kluttig. In the two final concerts, Ensemble Modern musicians will join their Korean colleagues to present works by Korean composers, compositions from the Lucerne Festival Academy’s Composer Seminar 2025, and pieces by Christian Mason.
