Concerts with the SWR Vocal Ensemble
in Frankfurt, Stuttgart and CologneTogether with the SWR Vocal Ensemble, Ensemble Modern performs the world premiere of ›The Oddity Effect‹ by the British composer Christian Mason. Based on a text by Paul Griffiths, this »oddity effect« describes the fascinatingly homogenous, but unpredictable swarm movements of fishes. After the world premiere in Frankfurt, the work will also be performed in Stuttgart and Cologne on the following evenings. The other featured works by the South Korean-German composer Younghi Pagh-Paan, the Norwegian Eivind Buene, the Austrian Johannes Maria Staud, the Dane Per Nørgård, the Spaniard Unai Urkola Etxabe and the Chinese composer Yiran Zhao also deal with contemporary topics in many different ways. EM’s cellist Eva Böcker discusses the programme in the trailer.
