Happy New Ears

The next ›Happy New Ears‹ concert on May 7 focuses on Brigitta Muntendorf. It features excerpts from her experimental musical theatre work ›Melencolia‹, which contains references to the renaissance, the romantic era and pop – a »melancholy playground against the indifference of the universe«. Brigitta Muntendorf introduces her oeuvre in a conversation with the media researcher Geert Lovink. ›Melencolia‹ will also be performed at the Holland Festival at the Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ in Amsterdam on June 19 and 20. In 3D audio landscapes, instrumental soloists of Ensemble Modern meet virtual guests and artificial intelligences, and cloned voices encounter worlds of digital images and bizarre parallel existences.
