2. Young Ensemble Academy

The 2nd Young Ensemble Academy presented by Ensemble Modern and IEMA once again focuses on the needs of young ensembles in the contemporary music field. It is designed for ensembles of advanced academy level who are about to transition to professional life, and ensembles whose members are still young, but already working professionally, and which were not founded before 2017. The format aims to offer young colleagues encouragement from the members of Ensemble Modern, through coaching and workshops, also on issues beyond purely musical questions. In the final concerts, a composition commissioned from Katerine Balch will be given its world premiere, a chance for all participants to perform jointly with the EM members. The application deadline is April 15, 2024.
