Subscription Concert

In this concert, Ensemble Modern once again shows the unlimited variety to be found in contemporary music. Johannes Motschmann is equally at home in electronic music as in jazz and film music. In 2011 he composed ›Attack Decay‹, which will be performed together with ›Cihangir‹ by Samir Odeh-Tamimi. Cihangir is the name of a quarter in Istanbul whose urban and traditional sounds the composer tried to capture here. For Sarah Nemtsov, on the other hand, literary references are an important source for her work, while Yann Robin alludes in his compositions to his musical background as a free jazz musician.
