Portrait Rolf Riehm

Ensemble Modern dedicates the first Happy New Ears concert of the 2018/19 season to the composer Rolf Riehm, whose biography and oeuvre are directly linked to the music metropolis of Frankfurt. Together with Klaus Zehelein, the former opera director and chief dramaturge of the Frankfurt Opera, the composer comments upon his works ›Lenz in Moskau – Ein Melodram in fünf Schüben‹ and ›Adieu, sirènes‹ for mezzo-soprano, two celli and two trumpets. Christian Hommel conducts the concert and moderates as well. The soprano part will be sung by Sarah Maria Sun.
