Louis Andriessen Portrait

The composer Louis Andriessen, a key figure of the contemporary Dutch art scene, is the focus of the next Happy New Ears concert (March 18, 8:00 pm). In the presence of the composer, ensemble and chamber music works including “Bells for Haarlem” for piano, celesta, synthesizer and vibraphone will be performed. In August, the Ensemble Modern Orchestra will perform Andriessen’s “De Materie” for soloists, narrators, chorus and large ensemble at the opening of the Ruhrtriennale in Duisburg, directed by Heiner Goebbels.
