Fokus Perspektive Schumann

Concert at Alte Oper Frankfurt

During the next subscription concert (March 13, 8:00 pm) at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, part of the “Focus Perspective Schumann”, the main feature is the world premiere of the work “Lunea” by Heinz Holliger, which the composer considers “a kind of Schumann cycle” and will conduct himself. The baritone part will be sung by Robert Koller. This will be combined with Arnold Schoenberg’s Piano Pieces Op. 19 arranged for chamber ensemble by Heinz Holliger as well as György Ligeti’s Chamber Concerto for 13 Instrumentalists. The subsequent “Night Concert”, conceived to reflect the music previously heard, juxtaposes the sound worlds of Schumann and Holliger: Holliger himself performs his work “Elis” and Ueli Wiget interprets Schumann’s “Four Night Pieces”. During the “Long Night of Romanticism” (March 15), EM performs Gérard Grisey’s “Vortex temporum”.
