Happy New Ears

Carola Bauckholt’s composing focuses on noises, many of them everyday ones. She uses special sound phenomena as the foundation of her music, transferring their characteristics to instruments. With her direct art, she opens up spaces beyond our traditional perception of sound. For the Happy New Ears concert on June 5 , the composer presents her works ›Treibstoff‹›, Hirn & Ei‹ and ›Schraubdichtung‹. The evening’s moderator is the poet Jan Wagner, with whom the composer conceived a reading-cum-concert featuring Ensemble Modern for the Frankfurt Poetry Days in the summer of 2017.
