Ambiguous Areas

Ensemble Modern at the Muffathalle Munich

“Ambiguous Areas” meet at the concert on December 1 at Muffathalle in Munich, where they are juxtaposed, dissolved and interfused. In Lars Petter Hagen’s “To Zeitblom”, a piece featuring traditional Norwegian music and Hardanger fiddle, the music accompanies the live translation, fragmentation and remounting of texts. After that the Austrian Wolfgang Mitterer explores the oeuvre of the great romantic Anton Bruckner in his piece for ensemble and electronics, “The church of bruckner”. In “Take Death”, the world of Igor Stravinsky’s “Sacre du printemps” is overlayered by the sounds of a death metal band and the rapid beats of the Viennese techno DJ Patrick Pulsinger, using electronics and a modular synthesizer.
