Society "Friends of the Ensemble Modern"

The "Friends of the Ensemble Modern" want to support the Ensemble's work financially and with active participation.
The society was founded in 2000. Since then it was able to help the Ensemble several times.
Each month we hold a meeting »Offene Ohren« [Open Ears] at the Ensemble's home in the Schwedlerstraße, with very different programs which are suggested by the members themselves. We want to experience new sounds from old instruments, listen to and talk about selected works of contemporary musc and get to know micro tonality. We will be informed on texts about new music. Members of the Ensemble Modern and Dr. Elmar Weingarten, managing director of the Ensemble, will provide information and explanations.
During our meetings at the Ensemble Modern's place there will be opportunities to meet musicians and composers. Members also get reduced fares for the concerts »Unterm Dach« [Under the Roof] in the Schwedlerstraße.
The Ensemble Modern's CDs can be bought for the production price and members get the Ensemble's Annual Magazine sent for free.
Information on the Ensemble Modern's concerts and invitations to rehearsals are sent via email or fax.
It is not only a good deed to support the Ensemble Modern, it is also rewarding. We will be more awake and more open to the works of our contemporary composers. Join us now!
