New CD release: ›Dancing on a Volcano – Music between 1920 and 1933‹ Today, Ensemble Modern Media releases a new album featuring works by Paul Hindemith, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Arnold Schoenberg and Kurt Weill, performed by Ensemble Modern, mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta and the vocal ensemble amarcord under the direction of HK Gruber. Recorded live at the Cologne Philharmonie in 2025, the programme brings together works by composers who were forced into exile after 1933—reflecting the tensions between artistic awakening and political upheaval.
